Since 2017, ICsense NV is an independent subsidiary of TDK Corporation. This transaction does not only merge technical expertise and business growth opportunities, it also requires ICsense to fully comply with the TDK Code of Conduct with a strong focus on ESG (Environmental, Social and corporate Governance) of which sustainable and socially responsible procurement is a part.
Sustainable development is a key priority for TDK’s management and TDK has formulated the Sustainability Vision and set the goals as a whole TDK Group of fully capitalizing on its proprietary core technologies and solutions to “advance the development of a sustainable society and champion well-being for all people as a whole TDK group”. In order to realize the vision, TDK pursues both a sustainable society and the corporate growth by maximizing social value.
On March 2021, TDK Corporation has been selected as an “Industry Mover 2021” in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2021. TDK’s sustainability performance (including its consolidated subsidiaries) is within the top 15% of its industry and its score advanced most from 2019 to 2020 compared to industry peers. Every year S&P Global assesses the sustainability performance of companies around the world from an economic, environmental, and social perspective based on Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) method and issues the Sustainability Yearbook. This year around 7,000 companies in 61 industries around the world were assessed on the basis of the CSA. Among the 220 companies assessed in the Electronic Equipment, Instruments & Components industry, to which TDK belongs, TDK received the Industry Mover distinction for coming within the top 15% in the industry and achieving the strongest improvement over the previous year.
