CAD Support Engineer

The main role of the CAD support engineer is to provide support for chip design tools for all design and layout engineers and to ensure continuous improvement of the ICsense design flow for higher efficiency and user friendliness.

Responsibilities

  • Act as CAD Support Engineer:
    • maintenance and configuration of the CAD tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor, Matlab, Cliosoft, …)
    • maintenance and installation of the process design kits (PDKs) for the different IC technologies used at ICsense
    • maintenance, development and configuration of the proprietary ICsense design environment
    • give CAD support for the designers and layouters at ICsense
  • Work closely together with other CAD Support Engineers
  • Interact with support teams from the different tool vendors and chip foundries
  • CAD users group: participate in the regular meetings and ensure follow up of the discussed items
  • Support internal CAD training initiatives
  • Write documentation, manuals and keep the CAD information on Confluence up to date

Competences

  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics or Informatics
  • You have experience with programming languages like Python, scripting and Linux
  • Experience with CAD tools from Cadence/Synopsys/Mentor/Matlab is a plus
  • Knowledge of ASIC design/layout or PCB design concepts is a plus
  • You communicate fluently in English (oral and written)
  • You demonstrate creative, critical and independent thinking capabilities
