Bram De Muer presents the potential of sensor-driven mechatronics and industrial application of integrated sensor systems, using some business cases. Typically these applications have very specific requirements on tolerance to a harsh environment, e.g. EMC, robust connectivity, high-voltage interfaces, and fixed, small form factors limited by the existing processes and products. In many applications integrated circuits and sensor systems are the only viable solution.
