ICsense has implemented direct nerve stimulation electrode array drivers for cochlear hearing aids. The key challenge was to deliver an accurate charge to the tissue and be able to measure identical charges from the tissue. As the electronics are implanted and wirelessly powered, a low current consumption is crucial. At the same time, the response of the nerves and brain is measured with a high-accuracy and low power.
Features:
- High voltage (implemented in 80V 0.35um BCD)
- Accurate charge delivery: highly accurate DACs with fast settling and fast transients
- High interelectrode matching
- Nerve and brain response instrumentation: uV rms noise and offset, high gain
- Power consumption of a few uAs for settling in microseconds
- Low standby current
