This ASIC is part of an Implantable Pulse Generator (IPG) neuro-stimulating system with 24 amplitude independent channels. The ASIC is responsible for powering the IPG system (processor, transceiver and stimulator ASIC) and charging the internal battery. The ASIC can draw its power from any primary battery, rechargeable Li-Ion batteries or wireless power tranfer. Li-Ion batteries are recharged through the intelligent wireless power link. To ensure a long battery life, the Li-Ion charging is highly accurate up to 0.1% and peak currents are minimized. As the ASIC will be implanted, all measures have been taken to ensure the safety and the lowest possible power consumption.
