ICsense has developed an analog-sensor backend for automotive applications. This component consists of a D/A converter, an output buffer and several additional circuits including open-circuit detection and bi-directional data transfer circuits. The main challenges in this development were the accuracy and settling requirements in combination with the wide range of capacitive loading and leakage at high temperatures. To achieve the specifications, we implemented dynamic element matching techniques and class AB operation with current boosting.
